Bev Marquez, LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) is the RMCP CEO.

Bev earned an MA in Agency Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado in 1988, and has a BS in Psychology from Colorado State University. Bev is a Certified Psychological First Aid Trainer and is a member of state, national, and international Critical Incident Response teams.

Bev’s clinical experience includes working with individuals and family members in community mental health, employee assistance programs, and private practice settings. Bev has over 20 years of experience providing mental health and substance abuse services and consultation for employers, community agencies, and first responders.

Before coming to RMCP, Bev was a partner in a behavioral risk consultation practice where she provided consultation to employers regarding employee behavior and performance concerns. Bev was a team leader in response to the Columbine High School incident, the 9-11 attacks, and airline disaster preparedness training and exercises. She most recently was the EAP provider at Denver Iinternational Airport where she provided counseling to employees, consultation to managers and was a member of DIA’s Emergency Response Team.

Bev is most qualified for leadership at RMCP as she has been on the ground floor of system and process development in both public and private mental health service systems. Bev’s strength is to blend the clinical and business needs of an organization and the client or community to establish a state-of-the-art delivery system.

Bev was instrumental in the developing an international 24/7 crisis and consultation line for employees and employers. In her executive leadership role, she established relationships with key customers and effective partnerships with professional and community members. Additionally, she recruited, developed, and managed clinical teams for professional activities ranging from account management to crisis and short term counseling, quality assurance, and resource development.

Bev joined RMCP (Metro Crisis Services) as its Director of Operations in April of 2010, and was named the CEO in December 2012.  Bev is instrumental in achieving the organization's current programmatic and operational goals, establishing effective partnerships with professional and community members, and leading the way for the success of collaborative Statewide Crisis Efforts. 


Cheri Skelding, Vice President of Clinical Operations

Cheri Skelding, LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) is the Clinical Director for RMCP.

Cheri earned a Masters in Social Work from the University of Denver in 2000 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Bowling Green State University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude.

Cheri has a wide range of clinical experience and has worked in various settings. For five years, Cheri was a team leader at Aurora Mental Health Center on the emergency services team and also supervised the after-hours clinical team. Prior to that experience, she was a triage specialist, supervisor, and Director of Clinical Operations for EAP International, a for-profit international behavioral health EAP and crisis call center.

She has worked with children, adults and families and has provided consultation to employers of people who have mental health or substance abuse issues. She has worked in inpatient and outpatient settings and has also worked as a victim’s advocate and as an emergency psychiatric evaluator in the community mental health setting. She is an active member of Aurora Public Schools Safety Committee and has been trained as a Crisis Response Trainer through NOVA, National Organization for Victims Assistance, for that team. She also has served as a volunteer for the American Red Cross’ Mental Health Disaster Team.

Cheri joined RMCP (Metro Crisis Services) as its Clinical Director in April of 2010 and maintains a strong role in the continued improvement of current clinical operations, as well as quality assurance and expansion of RMCP’s services.


Brittany Ward, Administrative Services Director

Brittany Ward, PHR, SHRM-CP, is the Administrative Services Director for RMCP.

Brittany earned a Bachelor of Science in Communications and Business Administration from the University of Florida and has since been expanding her professional experience nationwide. Most recently, Brittany earned her PHR, Professional in Human Resources, Certification in July of 2013, and her SHRM - CP, Certified Professional in Human Resources Certification through the Society for Human Resources in January 2015.

Over the past 8 years, Brittany has held postions with Lee & Associates, a commercial real estate company in Southern California, and GrahamGolden Technologies, an IT consulting firm in downtown Denver, and Callaway Golf.  In each organization, Brittany gained experience working in a wide range of capacities; including but not limited to financial management, fund management, accounting, general business, public relations, human resources, marketing and graphic design, copywriting, customer relations, and event planning. 

At RMCP, Brittany continues to maintain her versatility managing the various non-clinical, administrative aspects of RMCP and ensuring effective internal operations for the legitimacy, sustainability, and growth of the organization.

Brittany joined RMCP in November of 2011.


Michael Allen, MD, Medical Director

Dr. Allen is professor of psychiatry and emergency medicine for the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Director of Research for the Colorado Depression Center. He is best known for his work in agitation, suicide and emergency services. Dr. Allen was a principal investigator in the NIMH Systematic Treatment Enhancement Program for Bipolar Disorder and a part of the STEPBD Suicide Work Group. He is now a co-investigator
for the NIH Emergency Department Safety and Follow-up Evaluation (ED SAFE) and principal investigator for a study of a new medication for PTSD and for the Military Suicide Research Consortium study The Psychophysiology of Suicidal States.

He has served as president of the American Association and vice president of the International Association for Emergency Psychiatry, chair of the American Psychiatric Association Task Force on Psychiatric Emergency Services, and member of the American College of Emergency Physicians clinical policy committee, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration pharmacotherapy expert panel, the Colorado Governor’s Advisory Panel on Suicide and, recently, The Colorado Trust’s Convening for Colorado Suicide Prevention Strategy Meeting. He is currently working with an American Association of Suicidology task force on improving the competency of mental health professionals in suicide risk assessment and is president of the Carson J Spencer Foundation.

Dr. Allen received his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and trained in psychiatry at the Institute of Living in Hartford, CT, where he served as chief resident. He is board certified in psychiatry with added qualifications in addictions and is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.

Dr. Allen joined RMCP in May of 2014, and provides counsel and supervision to RMCP Clinicial Staff.


Bruce Shaver, Chief Financial Officer

Bruce Shaver comes to RMCP with over 40 years of progressive healthcare leadership, serving as the Chief Financial Officer for four acute care hospitals and Mental Health Partners, a community mental health center in Boulder, CO. Bruce has strong partnership experience planning and implementing three hospital mergers and two mental health center partnerships and ten years of successful managed care contracting. 

Bruce received his MBA from Clarkson University in New York and is a veteran of the US Coast Guard.

Bruce joined RMCP in July of 2014, and provides the organization with long-term financial planning and counsel to RMCP Administrative Staff and the Board of Directors.
